Dennis Bort has been a licensed insurance agent since 1988. Dennis started his insurance career with the Woodard Insurance agency. After serving four years in the US Army, his military service ended, and he became an employee at Erie insurance as a security officer working evenings and learning from one of the best mentors, Chuck Woodard, during the day.

In January 1990, he left his employment at Erie insurance to become a full-time insurance agent and purchased the insurance agency from Charles Woodard in 1997. At the time, it was Dennis himself and one other employee. He had quickly grown to employ three full-time customer service representatives and three full-time producers.

Bort Insurance has won numerous Erie Insurance Founders’ Awards, branch production awards for life and property/casualty, and in 2012 the agency was honored as “Quality Agent of the Year,” ERIE’s most prestigious award. It is Dennis’ goal to provide outstanding customer service and treat you like you were family.

Dennis is married to his best friend and frequently introduces himself as Betsy Bort’s husband. He loves to golf, enjoys the challenge of fly fishing for steelhead and releasing them to fight another day.
